again and we were indecisive over where to eat as usual. Food Loft initially
was suggested. Considering the variety of food there and comfortability
of the place, we wasted no time.
Located on the 4th floor of Gurney Plaza, Food Loft calls itself a
concept restaurant and has a nice sea view over Gurney Drive. So,
what is this concept? Nothing much, you just walk over to the
kitchen area (vietnam, thai, malay, chinese, japanese, italian,
western kitchens) and order whatever you want with your assigned
card. Tell them your table number, and it will be served there.
The Interior
glim light from the outside just
adds to the ambience. It's stated
somewhere there's RM300'000 worth
of artwork in the restaurant to
impress. That's only true when I am
around. My face is worth around
that. And the chandelier sucks.
Giant Chicken Sausage
Large chicken dildo is lightly grilled
served with mild black pepper brown
sauce and mash potato.The yellow
sauce you see is cum, I mean mustard,
which I choked on and totally ruined
my dildo...sausage.I can't take
mustard. Other than that, it's nice.
California Maki
Alfred ordered this. The maki
looks decently prepared, unlike
some half-assed japanese
buffet. The price isn't that
expensive as well given the
place you are eating. So, it's
worth it.
Seafood Spaghetti
Jordan had this. I didn't get a
chance to try it but according
to him, it was not bad. Nothing
to wow about, it stays in the
border line of mediocrecy. The
clams however, was a bit over
cooked and was stiff.
Tempura Don
Alfred and I both had this. 2 prawns,
a couple of assorted vegetables
and some squid, the tempura don
was fried to crisp.The tempura
sauce lack of radish and there was
a strong wine taste to it. The dish
was a bit dry. Nonetheless, it is
better than a lot of places.
Char Grilled Chicken
Pretty much the same as my dildo,
I mean sausage. Just replace the
dildo+mustard with chicken + corn.
Food Loft may look fancy from the outside but in truth, the price and food
aren't that fancy at all. If you really take a deep look, the pricing is
almost the same with Nandos, Sushi King and those microwave heated
food at Kim Gary. Next time when you are undecided on what to eat
give Food Loft a thought.
Or when you are feeling to pay RM12++ on express food outlets, give
Food Loft a thought as well by just adding a few bucks to it.
The food is nothing to wow about, but it's not that bad either. The good
point is that the place is very nice to chill.
(++ = 5% service charge and 5% government tax)
